General information:
A component of drilling fluids that improves their lubricating properties. Emulic LUB 2 is a mixture of fatty acid derivatives, surfactants and high-pressure and anti-wear additives. The product is easily biodegradable and is not classified as hazardous according to REACH and CLP.

Properties:
Microemulsions obtained with Emulic LUB 2 are stable, even in high brine concentrations. Lubricating properties measured with EP Tester FANN for a working fluid prepared with Emulic LUB 2 are as follows:
• the coefficient of friction for 0.1% product addition at a pressure of 150 lbin at 60 rpm is 0.11
• the pressure force at which scuffing occurs for water is 500 lbin.

Application:
The product added to drilling fluid in the amount of 0.1% significantly improves its lubricating properties. Emulic LUB 2 with the addition of 0.1% by volume reduces the coefficient of friction of tap water from 0.41 to 0.11.
The addition of the product to drilling fluid causes a reduction of the torque, a reduction of the coefficient of friction and pulling of the drill pipe, especially in directional and curved holes.
