Emulic OL

General information:
1,4-sorbitan monooleate

Properties:
Emulic OL is a non-ionic surfactant, derived from sorbitan and oleic acid. It is obtained in the esterification reaction of sorbitol with oleic acid. It is produced in the form of a liquid with a color from yellow to brown. It does not dissolve in water. A water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier.

Application:
Emulic OL is used as a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsifier in the production of emulsion explosives for the mining industry, cutting fluids and corrosion inhibitors for metallurgy, and lubricating and softening preparations for textiles and tanning.
This product is also used as a PVC plasticizer for the production of compositions for coating of paper and metal foils. It is also used as an emulsion stabilizer in the polymerization of styrene, butadiene and butadiene-styrene copolymer. It is also used as a pigment dispersant in paints, a dispersant for oil-derived substances leaking into water, an asphaltene dispersant, and a binder in fillers in many formulations.
Emulic OL is also used as a titanium dioxide stabilizer and a wetting agent and emulsifier in pesticides and insecticides.
This product is also used in combination with higher HLB substances as an emulsifier for crude oil, solvents, vegetable oils, waxes, silicones and other water-insoluble substances.
